About Us

Ashia Thompson, MBA is the President of Thomson Accountants Inc. (TAI) formerly Baer Tax Group. Ashia has worked in the accounting field since 2009 and holds both a Master in Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Molloy College on Long Island.

When not overseeing TAI, Ashia enjoys spending time with family, traveling and participating in sports.

Jeanette Neven majored in college in banking and finance. Since graduating her career experience spans the private sector, governmental and not for profit areas of accounting. She has held roles as controller, manager and accountant. Jeanette enjoys resolving complex accounting issues for clients.

When not at TAI, you will likely find Jeanette on the tennis court or on a world travel adventure.

Chelsea Maurer joined TAI in February of 2023. With studies in Business at Columbia Greene Community College, her diverse career history began as a cosmetologist for 13 years. After running her own business, she moved to various customer service and banking positions in Columbia, Greene, and Albany Counties. Chelsea loves working with people and is one of our front office administrators providing general guidance and assistance with tax inquires.

When not at TAI, Chelsea is making travel plans. Her creative hobby is all things art, loves the outdoors and spending time with her loved ones.

Shanita Parson joined TAI in September of 2025.
